HUNTSVILLE — Dezmond Chumley hit a three-run homer as Jackson State topped Alabama A&M 16-3 Sunday afternoon to complete a three-game sweep of a Southwestern Athletic Conference baseball series.

With the win, Jackson State (22-18, 9-6 in SWAC) moves into third place in the SWAC standings, while Alabama A&M (12-28, 8-9) falls to third place.

Alabama A&M took an early 1-0 lead, but that did not last long. Jackson State scored three runs in the top of the third inning before scoring five in the fourth to build a six-run cushion.

Daniel Tart led Alabama A&M at the plate with a hit and two RBIs, while Kyle Redmond hit a solo homer. Jonathan Smith II and Brock Mitchell each added a hit for the Bulldogs.

Alabama A&M hosts Alabama State on Thursday to open the Bulldogs' final home series of the season.
